1 Year Checkup

20 pounds, 7 ounces. 29 inches tall. Head circumference, 18. Though her growth has been fine (aka, within the large realm of normal), she's now on the smaller side of the scale...from bigger than 97% of kids to only 25-50% of kids. She's lost some of her baby fat from being more active, and she's a cruiser now. I'd be surprised if she's not walking by Jan. 1st. She's been cleared for cow's milk, so THIS cow is free! Not that she doesn't still nurse occasionally, but now it's more for comfort, and the burden of providing so much of her nutrition is off of me and up to flossie the cow now...and the folks at the farmer's market. I'd smash my pump as a sign of triumph, but I might need the thing again if we ever decide to shoot for a lil' brother (Oliver? How cute would that be?).

Here's some video of her taken a month or so ago at the park.

Vernessa and fishes

Here is a hodgepodge of pictures. Yesterday nonna treated us all to the Aquarium of the Pacific and lunch. Olivia was much braver than mommy when it came to touching the sting rays. I only managed to do it once and squirmed the whole time, while Boo did it three times and thought it was pretty darn cool. Nonna has video of it and I hope to post it soon. In the meantime, enjoys these pictures.

Last Sunday Olivia went to the meeting in one of her vintage outfits, captured here.

Here's one more picture from Tanaka Farms showing Olivia being held by Vernessa.

Here's one of my favorite pictures from our beach staycation a month ago.

A quick update

Lot’s of new stuff going on and not enough time to share.

Olivia has had to be taken out of daycare for a couple of months….long story short, when we returned from vacation we discovered that Tony’s boss had gone back on his word when he told him six months ago that Tony had enough vacation time to cover our September time off.  Consequently, his paycheck was much, MUCH smaller than it should have been.  This was the last straw and Tony, tired of his boss not honoring his contract, quit.  So Olivia is getting “nonna-care” for October and November.  But Miss Vernessa misses her Livy, so she invited Terry and Olivia to meet the Little Tikes group at Tanaka Farms.  Olivia brought home her own pumpkin, some fresh-picked vegetables, and goat hairs.  She apparently rode a goat.  I’ve included a picture of her with the goat, and being held by (no idea how to spell it) Johani, one of Vernessa’s employees.  FYI, the orange thing on Boo’s shirt is a sticker that says “Tanaka Farms Helper”.

Very cute.
